Quick bio

Dr. Susan McKeever is a senior lecturer in the School of Computer Science at Technological University Dublin (previous Dublin Institute of Technology).

My main research areas are in the area of machine learning including deep learning - applied within computer vision and text analytics (see research projects).  I'm a principal investigator in the CeADAR research group ( Centre for Applied Data Analytics).  CeADAR work with industry to bring data analytics in to address real world business and future business problems.

I supervise a group of PhD students in the area of text and video analytics.  I have two Marie Curie Career fit scholarship post docs  working on machine learning and computer vision projects in industry.

I am also deeply interested in helping solve the lack of gender balance in the computer science domain.  I am co-founded of the Ingenic (Irish Network for Gender Balance in Computing  ) group - a working group of academics and members of 18 third level schools of computing across Ireland.

Before TU Dublin  I worked in industry, initially as a consultant with Accenture  - and for individual clients (IBM, Bank of Ireland, AIB, other London based clients) working as a project manager on large scale IT projects.
